Aspen Falls
Aspen Falls is a Rocky Mountain retreat rich with history, originated in 1913 and set on 30 acres with 360 degree views of Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. In 1920 four hunting cabins were added to the majestic estate. Surrounded by magnificent scenery as well as abundant herds of elk, deer and bighorn sheep, Aspen Falls is the ultimate getaway.
Before the 1850s, indigenous people lived and traveled in this region for thousands of years, most notably the Ute and Arapahoe tribes. Their teepee poles and fire rock circles were still identifiable into the early 1900s throughout the valley. On occasion, itinerant trappers hunting beaver visited the area. After gold was discovered in Colorado in 1858, the indigenous tribes moved on and in 1915, the area became Rocky Mountain National Park. It was in 1959 when Joel Estes came to the valley in an unsuccessful search for gold, and the valley became known as Estes Park.
